"Sport in Development" Sebastian Rockenfeller personal website

I am currently working at the German Sport University Cologne, responsible for the field "Sport in Development". I worked in 2010 as a project manager for JAMBO BUKOBA. The project tries to empower children and teenagers in the fields of health (HIV/ Aids), gender equity, education and sport. Bukoba is the capital of the Kagera Region, Tanzania.

Current activities

After working as a project manager for the German Olympic Sport federation (DOSB), the German Federal Foreign Office (AA), the German Sport University Cologne (DSHS), the Regional Commissioners Office Kagera Region and the Jambo Bukoba e.V., I am back in Germany at the German Sport University Cologne.

Sebastian Rockenfeller: Bukoba, Tanzania; Let me introduce myself in a few words: I am a sport scientist also working for the German Sport University Cologne to develop the field "Sport for Development" in the Institution. I have had a focus on sport and development in my studies. I wrote a master’s (German Diploma) thesis that dealt with the important topic: I had the chance to evaluate a short term pilot project in Namibia, which was organized by myself (http://namibiaproject-sportsanddevelopment.blogspot.com/). Before I finished my studies I worked five month in a soccer project ("YESS project") in South Africa. I am highly motivated to continue my engagement in the field of sport for development.
